Questionnaire

To further reinforce what I have learned from carrying out a focus group, I chose to back it up by asking a questionnaire. To get the most feedback, I created it online using 'Survey Monkey' - the link is as follows: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/2JH28LW
I wrote out 8 different questions, all to gain further information about what my audience want.

1. What is your age?
The reason for including this question was to establish the age demographic of my target audience. The most popular age group would show who is most interested in crime films.

2. What is your gender?
Particular features of crime films may appeal to different genders, this was therefore fairly important to ask, as if I my film included extreme violence and action, it may steriotypically appeal more to the male audience.

3. Which sub genre of crime films do you most prefer?
Choosing a specific sub genre will help to refine what people want to see, and how I can adjust that when establishing genre myself.

4. Why would you watch a crime film?
This question will help me to identify how to pitch my film. For example, if the majority of people only chose to watch crime films for easy viewing, then I will not develop a complex story line.

5. Why do you like crime films?
I chose to ask this question to see what stands out as people's favourite feature often seen in crime films, so that I could therefore include it in my film.

6. What do you prefer the main character to be?
This question will help to clarify how realistic my film should be. If most people like to relate to the character, then creating verisimilitude will be of greater importance.

7. What qualities do you like to see in a protagonist?
To get a clearer idea of what psychographic classification my audience would come under, I included this question to understand what my target audience like/dislike.

8. What narrative type do you prefer?
Again helping to identify the characteristics of my audience, finding out what narrative type is preferred will ensure my film is tailored to what they want.
